Computer Security Issues #2

Israeli hacker Matan Gillon has discovered and published a vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser, that could be used in conjunction with Google Desktop to access confidential info like credit card numbers and passwords.
Graham Cluley, senior tech consultant at computer security firm Sophos, said he was concerned that Gillon "didn't reveal the flaw responsibly."
Apparently Gillon has made things worse, by making his findings public without working with Google and Microsoft on the problem first.
So what the hell does Cluley expect?!
Gillon is not a security professional - he is a hacker. They would normally brand him a criminal. Yet the industry now xpects him to act like he owes them something.
Well he owes you nothing. His obligation is to freedom of information. And he has honoured that.
